Canterbury Hydrangeas — Terms of Trade

Welcome to Canterbury Hydrangeas. These Terms of Trade govern all purchases of products, including fresh-cut flowers, cut foliage, live plants, dormant bulbs, and apparel or merchandise (collectively referred to as "Goods"), from us. By placing an order via our website, social media, or email, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Pricing and Currency

  • All prices displayed on our website or quoted via email are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless explicitly stated otherwise.

  • Prices do not include delivery charges. Delivery costs are calculated and added at the final checkout screen or provided to you in a written quote prior to payment.

  • We reserve the right to adjust our prices at any time due to seasonal fluctuations or operating costs. However, once an order is placed and payment is confirmed, the price for those specific Goods is locked in and will not change.

2. Orders and Stock Availability

  • Live Stock & Seasonal Variations: Flowers, foliage, plants, and bulbs are living, seasonal products. Photos on our website or social media are true representations of our varieties, but natural variations in leaf texture, stem length, flower size, color shade, and growth stage are to be expected.

  • Merchandise & Apparel: Sizing guides for apparel are provided on our website where applicable. Please check these carefully before ordering.

  • Availability: All orders are subject to stock availability and crop success. If an item you ordered (including a specific merchandise size, flower or foliage type, or plant variety) becomes unavailable or fails our quality inspection before dispatch, we will notify you immediately. We will offer you the choice of a suitable substitute, a store credit, or a full refund. Canterbury Hydrangeas will not be liable for any losses arising from our inability to supply stock due to crop failure or unpredictable weather events.

3. Payment

  • Full payment is required at the time of placing your order. Goods will not be harvested, packed, or dispatched until clear funds have been received.

  • We accept payments securely via our digital payment providers (e.g., Stripe, Squarespace Payments, or direct bank transfer). Your payment details are encrypted and secure.


4. Dispatch and Delivery

  • Delivery Locations: We ship to physical street addresses within New Zealand. Due to the perishable nature of live plants, fresh foliage, and cut flowers, we cannot ship orders containing live stock to PO Boxes or Private Bags.(Orders containing only merchandise may be delivered to PO Boxes).

  • Dispatch Timing: To protect our live stock, orders containing plants, foliage, or flowers are typically shipped Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend transit delays in courier depots. Orders containing only merchandise may be dispatched throughout the week.

  • Authority to Leave (ATL): Unless you explicitly instruct us otherwise, all parcels are sent with "Authority to Leave." The courier will leave the package in what they deem a safe, sheltered location at your delivery address. Canterbury Hydrangeas is not responsible for items that degrade, are damaged by weather, or go missing after the courier has successfully scanned the item as delivered.

5. Cancellations and Changes by the Customer

  • Merchandise, Plants, and Bulbs: If you wish to cancel or amend an order for merchandise, plants, or bulbs before it has been packed or dispatched, please contact us immediately. We will issue a full refund. Once an order is boxed or dispatched, it cannot be canceled or modified.

  • Fresh Cut Flowers and Foliage: Because fresh flowers and foliage are cut specifically to fulfill your order, cancellations must be requested at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled dispatch date. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before dispatch are non-refundable, as the stems will have already been allocated or harvested from our plants.

6. Intellectual Property

  • All text, photography, logos, custom merchandise designs, and imagery displayed on the Canterbury Hydrangeas website and social media platforms are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our images, branding, or designs for commercial purposes without our express written permission.

7. Consumer Protection & Governing Law

  • Nothing in these Terms of Trade is intended to avoid, limit, or contract out of your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

  • These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes will be handled within the jurisdiction of New Zealand courts or tribunals.
